Cone Beam CT Scanner
Before you visit our clinic for dental implants in Turkey, we suggest you have a Cone Beam CT scan in your country and send the scan to us. However, we know this isn’t always possible, but we request that you send us conventional 2-D digital dental x-rays taken recently. We can then analyse your teeth and jawbone further when you attend the clinic.
Our cone beam CT scanner is one of the most important pieces of equipment in our dental clinic, taking the guesswork out of implant treatment. CT stands for computed tomography, and this scanner is similar to a regular CT scan, taking detailed 3-D images of your teeth and jaws. However, it is even safer than a routine CT scan, emitting less radiation.
The scan is quick and painless, as you just need to remove any facial jewellery and glasses, and we will position your head comfortably for the scan. The arm of the scanner moves around you, and you simply need to hold still for less than a minute.
A Cone Beam CT scan is also useful for planning many dental treatments, such as wisdom tooth extractions, but is essential when planning any dental implant procedure.
Our oral surgeon can view the 3-D images of your teeth and jaws from any angle. They can assess your jawbone quality, ensuring there is enough bone to surround each dental implant. Good bone health is essential as the implants need to fuse with the bone around them to provide strong, stable support for implant teeth. Don’t worry if there isn’t enough bone, as a bone grafting procedure can restore it. Although bone grafting might lengthen the time needed to complete your dental implants in Turkey, the final outcome will be well worth the effort.
After assessing your teeth and jaws, our oral surgeon can plan your treatment, deciding precisely where to place each implant while avoiding important structures like nerves and sinus cavities. They will determine each implant's exact depth and angulation, ensuring that once you receive your new implant teeth in Turkey, they look and feel natural and allow you to eat comfortably, restoring excellent functionality.
By the time you sit in the dental chair for computer-guided dental implant surgery in Turkey, our oral surgeon will have preplanned every step of the procedure. Consequently, your treatment is quicker and only minimal incisions are needed. Afterwards, healing is faster with minimal discomfort.
