The Clinical Smile Makeover: Health First, Aesthetics Second

A successful smile makeover must be built on a structurally sound foundation. Anatürk and Özsoy took a meticulous, collaborative approach to make sure this transformation would stand the test of time.

  • Phase 1 — the health foundation: X-rays revealed an apical lesion needing immediate attention before the aesthetic phase could begin. Anatürk performed a fresh root canal treatment on one tooth and a complex re-treatment on another to completely clear the infection, then placed two white fillings to seal and rebuild the core of these teeth.
  • Phase 2 — the restoration: with a healthy foundation secured, Özsoy designed and anchored 20 Smile High-Translucency porcelain crowns (10 upper, 10 lower). To keep the result looking super natural, he used high-translucency porcelain — which mimics the way natural enamel reflects and absorbs light — and built fine natural detail and surface anatomy into every crown so they replicated the texture of real teeth.
  • The final aesthetics: L.J.H. wanted a brilliantly white but highly realistic result. He chose the OM2 shade with a Natural style. Combined with the high-translucency material and custom detailing, the before-and-after photos show a dramatic shift from dark, worn, uneven teeth to a bright, healthy and natural-looking smile.
