The initial visit focused on removing the majority of the failing dentition and clearing active infections. We have only left 2 back teeth to give the patient a stable denture during the healing phases. We planned to extract them at the last visit.
- Upper Jaw: Dr. Özkaynak performed 5 tooth extractions.
- Lower Jaw: Dr. Özkaynak performed 6 tooth extractions.
- Strategic Staging: Instead of a full clearance, the final 2 posterior teeth were intentionally kept intact. This allowed the clinical team to anchor a fixed temporary denture, giving the patient a stable, functional bite during the healing months.
⚙️ Phase 2: Advanced Surgical Foundation (04/12/2025)
After the extraction sites healed, J.M.C. returned for the core surgical phase led by Özkan Özkaynak D.D.S., Ph.D.
- Grafting & Sinus Lifting: To ensure sufficient bone volume in the upper jaw, Dr. Özkaynak performed a bilateral sinus lift and applied bone grafting material.
- Implant Placement: He then placed the All-on-6 implant framework in the upper arch and another All-on-6 framework in the lower arch.
🌟 Phase 3: Final Extractions & Permanent Smile (04/04/2026)
Following successful implant integration, the patient returned for her final restorations with Yekta Özsoy D.D.S.
- Final Extractions: The 2 natural teeth that were temporarily kept to support the provisional denture were successfully extracted.
