The Initial Consultation: The Problem
When Danut G. first visited us in February 2024, his “Before” photos showed a complex situation. His upper teeth were severely decayed, broken, and non-restorable. His lower teeth, however, were still strong but needed significant work.
The initial X-ray confirmed the plan. The upper jaw had severe bone loss and failing teeth. The lower jaw had a good foundation, but needed root canals and gap-filling.
Initial OPG (X-ray) from 21/02/2024: This scan shows the failing upper teeth and the viable, but in-need-of-repair, lower teeth.
A 3-Visit Hybrid Treatment Plan
Our team developed a plan to save what was healthy and replace what was not.
Visit 1 (February 2024): Foundation & Preservation
The first step was to prepare both jaws.
- Upper Jaw: Dr. Özkaynak performed 5 extractions on the failing upper teeth and Dr. Gültekinler fitted a temporary denture.
- Lower Jaw: Dr. Gültekinler began the preservation work, performing 2 root canal treatments and 1 filling to save the natural teeth.
Visit 2 (May 2024): The Dental Implant Surgery Phase
This visit was for the “expert-level” dental implant surgery.
- Upper Jaw (All-on-8): Due to bone loss, Dr. Özkaynak first performed a bilateral sinus lift & 2 bone grafts. He then placed 8 Neodent (Straumann Group) dental implants to create an “All-on-8” system for maximum stability.
- Lower Jaw (Dental Implants): To fill the gaps between the healthy teeth, Dr. Özkaynak placed 2 Neodent dental implants.
Post-Surgical OPG (X-ray) from 30/09/2024: This scan (taken at the start of Visit 3) shows the 8 upper dental implants and 2 lower dental implants fully integrated.
Visit 3 (September 2024): The Final Zirconium Smile Makeover
With the dental implants fused to the bone, Dr. Gültekinler took over to build the final smile.
- Upper Jaw: A 12-unit, full-arch dental bridge made of Zirconium Porcelain was attached to the 8 upper dental implants.
- Lower Jaw: A 13-unit Zirconium dental crown/bridge set was created to blend the 2 new dental implants perfectly with the 11 preserved (and now prepped) natural teeth.
- Aesthetic Details: The patient chose a 1M1 tooth colour for a bright, natural look, and a Softened Style for the shape.
- Final Touches: 2 new fillings were placed, and a protective Night Guard was provided.
The Result: A Custom “1M1 Softened Style” Smile
The final result is a perfectly balanced smile. The “After” photos show a seamless, natural-looking smile makeover in the 1M1 / Softened Style that the patient chose. It’s impossible to tell the difference between the dental implant-supported upper teeth and the dental crown-covered natural teeth on the lower.

Final OPG (X-ray) from 01/10/2024: The final scan shows the 12-unit upper dental bridge on 8 dental implants, and the 13-unit lower dental bridge and dental crowns on 2 dental implants and 11 natural teeth.
