Our patient, Chloe, presented with an anterior open bite, significant dental wear, and several failing molars that required extraction. Because extensive extractions were needed in the posterior zones, her rehabilitation was carefully staged across three visits between August 2025 and June 2026 — allowing proper bone healing before dental implant placement, for a lifetime of stability.

The Clinical Journey: Phased Precision Across Three Visits
To safely correct an open bite while managing extensive posterior extractions, a multi-phase approach is essential. Here’s how our clinical team executed this complex transformation.
Visit 1: Extractions & Anterior Restoration (August 2025)
Chloe arrived in late August 2025 for her foundational visit. Gültekinler began by extracting 10 severely damaged teeth (7 upper, 3 lower). Because the posterior zones needed several months to heal after the tooth extractions, he focused on the front aesthetics: preparing the remaining healthy anterior teeth and placing 20 zirconium porcelain dental crowns (9 upper, 11 lower). This immediately improved her smile and protected her remaining teeth while her gums and bone healed.
Visit 2: The Surgical Dental Implant Phase (December 2025)
Chloe returned four months later. With the extraction sites fully healed and the bone stabilised, Özkaynak took over, expertly and painlessly placing 6 Neodent (Straumann Group) dental implants (4 upper, 2 lower) to serve as robust artificial roots for her future posterior teeth.
Visit 3: Final Delivery & Open Bite Resolution (June 2026)
Following a six-month osseointegration period to ensure the dental implants had fully fused with the jawbone, Chloe returned for her final visit. Gültekinler took final impressions of the abutments and fitted the remaining 7 zirconium porcelain dental crowns (4 upper, 3 lower) for the back teeth.
By expertly engineering the height and occlusal anatomy of these final posterior dental crowns, Gültekinler levelled the occlusal plane and completely closed her anterior open bite. She chose a brilliant OM1 shade in a Natural style finish, and a custom night guard was fitted to protect the new ceramic margins from night-time grinding.
